Welcome

Lincoln Mystery Plays

Welcome to the home of the Lincoln Mystery Plays.

The Mystery Plays have a long history and can trace their origins back to the tenth century. Various groups (or cycles) of plays are especially associated with specific British towns and cities – such as York, Coventry, Chester and Wakefield, as well as Lincoln.

In Lincoln, the cycle has been performed regularly since 1969. In 1978, Keith Ramsay translated the N-Town Cycle of plays, which was adopted as the City's own, & has been performed on a four year cycle ever since..

Lincoln Mystery Plays will be performed in July 2012

Commitment to the Community

It is our intention to present high quality, historically relevant and captivating performance.
Different directors over the years have used their own vision for the plays.
Thus the presentation of the plays continues to develop, creating theatre
which remains fresh, rich and diverse.
A key aim is to encourage participation from as wide a cross section of our community as possible.
